About PacketSure DLP 8.0
PacketSure™ DLP 8 is designed with the needs of small and medium-sized enterprises in mind. They need to protect confidential data on the network and achieve compliance with federal and state regulations, including HIPAA and GLBA. They need a comprehensive and effective Data Loss Prevention (DLP) solution -- but they don't have a lot of IT staff to spare on it. That's where PacketSure™ DLP comes in. It's available as an appliance that installs in less than an hour, for organizations needing an on-premises solution, or as a service from our Managed Service Provider partners. As soon as you switch it on, PacketSure™ starts showing you potential data leaks on your network -- places where your users are sending out unencrypted Social Security numbers, credit card numbers, Protected Health Information, trade secrets, and other proprietary information that shouldn't be traveling naked over the public Internet.
Our customers are in healthcare, education, finance, and insurance. They need a robust, easy-to-use DLP solution, but they don't have a lot of time to hassle with it -- they're busy curing cancer, shaping young minds, and rebuilding America's economy.
PacketSure™ DLP, from Palisade Systems, helps.
Let's take a look at some of the new features:
SMTP Social Analysis

The SMTP Social Analysis tool is possibly the coolest feature in PacketSure™ 8. It analyzes Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), an underlying e-mail protocol, to not just look for sensitive information, but also determine who's sending the information, and who's receiving it. Circles represent individual users and e-mail accounts, the color of the circle indicates the kinds of violations, and lines between the circles represent relationships between accounts. The SMTP Social Analysis tool provides a way to pinpoint the source of possible regulatory and compliance violations happening in e-mail.
Traffic Statistics

The Traffic Statistics Tool displays the kind of traffic moving over your network. The tool provides a graphic display of different types of traffic, showing you the volume of file transfers (FTP), Web traffic (HTTP), and much, much more. To name one example of how this can be useful: BitTorrent is often used for pirating movies and music, and distributing malware (although it also has legitimate uses). A sudden spike in BitTorrent traffic, made visible by PacketSure™ DLP, is a warning of possible regulatory and compliance violations happening on your network.
Gadgets

Gadgets provide you with an at-a-glance view of activity and potential regulatory and compliance violations on your network. Installed on the PacketSure Home Page, Gadgets display alerts, new cases, performance diagnostics, quarantined email messages, reports, and more.
Case Management

The Case Management Tool walks you through the business process of managing content violations. Use the tool to bundle multiple violations into a single case, and assign the case to an individual who will take action to remediate violations and enforce company policy. Cases can be assigned a status, such as "new," "open," "assigned," "closed," and more.
More Features
There's a lot more to love in PacketSure™ DLP 8. Other new features include: Violation tags, database fingerprinting, file fingerprinting, regular expressions, lexicons, and compound policies.
